Dr. Ernest Lewis,
Coordinator
- General Objectives: The doctoral program in Educational Statistics
and Measurement has as its goal the development of specialists in the
fields of statistics, measurement, and evaluation. Doctoral students
are exposed to the underlying mathematical models that serve as the
basis for research and evaluation in education and psychology. Students
become proficient in the use of statistical computer programs that are
widely used to analyze research data. During the course of study, the
Statistics Laboratory provides students with opportunities for consulting
with researchers from education, the behavioral and social sciences,
and the biological sciences.
Employment Perspective: Graduates of the Educational Statistics
and Measurement specialty have been employed by universities, state
education agencies, corporations, private and public research centers,
testing companies, the military, and public school systems.
Summary of Doctoral Degree Requirements: A selection and review
committee screens applicants on the basis of prior graduate work, grade
