Open Letter to Human Learning and Development Graduate Students The Department plans to teach out the Human Learning and Development Program in response to the planned retirement of Dr. Dillon. Dr. Dillon has now submitted her retirement papers to be effective at the end of the spring 2007 term. At this time, there are no plans to hire replacement faculty. If you have plans to finish your degree, those plans should be formalized with Dr. Dillon or other faculty who have agreed to assist by chairing the thesis or dissertation committees of active students. It is imperative that if you plan to finish your degree that your plans are clearly articulated and that you are committed to that articulation. I recommend those plans be written. If you have not done so recently, I recommend you review Department, College, and Graduate School documents related to graduate studies. The Graduate School Catalog is now on-line, the URL is http://www.siu.edu/gradschl/catalog.htm. Please contact us if you have questions or concerns. Sincerely, Lyle J. White Professor and Chair
